Vavona’s brief was to transform an elegant, purpose-built 1920s apartment by creating custom cabinetry, a fitted kitchen and a full complement of bespoke furniture pieces, including headboards, consoles and benches in coordinating oak and leather materials. We were commissioned by leading architect, Nick Leith-Smith who had been tasked with refurbishing, reconfiguring and reorganising the apartment space with a focus on high quality materials and a scheme that would maximise the perceived living space.

The prominent feature of the apartment re-design was its use of stone, with the main reception area and hallway united by a stunning frameless glass wall that would help to return the space to its original proportions.

To create the desired air of calm and simplicity, the apartment was finished along minimal lines and centred on a considered use of careful detailing, rich materials and beautiful textures and surfaces. The result is a coherent scheme that is functional, tranquil and a powerful example of how exquisitely designed furniture and innovative materials can transform a living space.
